Calcium selenide (chemical formula: CaSe) is an inorganic compound composed of calcium (Ca) and selenium (Se). This compound usually exists in solid form, has a rock salt structure (cubic system), and is a white to gray solid. CaSe is a semiconductor material with a band gap of about 3.9 eV. Its molecular weight is 119.04 g/mol, its melting point is about 1300°C, and it reacts with water to form hydrogen selenide (H₂Se), which is soluble in acid.
