Phosphorus sulfide (P2S5) Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

Phosphorus pentasulfide is directly synthesized from yellow phosphorus and sulfur. P4+10S→2P2S5 Melt the yellow phosphorus and sulfur separately, add them to the reactor in an appropriate proportion, and react under high temperature around 400℃ under the protection of inert gas. After the reaction is complete, cool and tablet to obtain the finished product of phosphorus pentasulfide.

Uses

In manufacture of lube oil additives and pesticides.manufacture of safety matches, ignition Compounds, and for introducing sulfur into organic Compounds.
