Drug Function and Efficacy

This product is a derivative of clindamycin. It has no antibacterial activity in vitro. It is hydrolyzed by esterase in vivo to form clindamycin and exert its antibacterial activity. The mechanism of action of clindamycin is to inhibit the synthesis of bacterial proteins. It mainly acts on Gram-positive cocci and anaerobic infections. It has good antibacterial effects on Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes, etc., and is moderately sensitive to Haemophilus influenzae and Neisseria gonorrhoeae. Some erythromycin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis are still sensitive to this product. It has good antibacterial effects on both Gram-negative and Gram-positive anaerobic bacteria. The MIC50 and MIC90 for Bacteroides fragilis are 0.062 and 0.5 mg/ml respectively, and the MIC50 and MIC90 for Peptostreptococcus are 0.125 and 4 mg/ml respectively.
