D-Arabinose Use and Manufacturing

Methods of Manufacturing

Derived from calcium gluconate through degradation and oxidation. Calcium gluconate and water are heated and dissolved together, and an iron catalyst prepared by mixing barium acetate solution and iron sulfate solution is added. The temperature was raised to 95°C with stirring, and the precipitate was filtered off. The supernatant is oxidized by adding hydrogen peroxide at 40℃, the reaction temperature does not exceed 56℃, and the reaction takes half an hour. After the reaction solution turned black, it was left to stand for half an hour, and the temperature was lowered to 40°C, and then hydrogen peroxide was added to oxidize according to the above method. After half an hour, oxalic acid was added and filtered to remove calcium oxalate. The filtrate was concentrated in vacuo to a syrup-like shape, the temperature did not exceed 48°C. Add anhydrous methanol to dissolve, let cool to crystallize and filter. The filter cake was washed with methanol and dried to obtain a crude product. The crude product was recrystallized from methanol to obtain D(-)-gum aldose. Another preparation method is to oxidize calcium gluconate and iron gluconate with hydrogen peroxide, filter the reactants, and then treat with strong acid styrene cation exchange resin and strong basic quaternary ammonium type I anion exchange resin to obtain the finished product.
