Description

Dexmedetomidine Hydrochloride is an agonist of adrenergic alpha-2 receptor, which is used in veterinary medicine for its analgesic and sedative properties.Target: Adrenergic alpha-2 ReceptorDexmedetomidine, acting at alpha(2A) adrenoceptors, must be present during the encoding process to decrease discrete cue fear memory; however, its ability to suppress contextual memory is likely the result of blocking the consolidation process [1]. Dexmedetomidine had no analgesic effects in alpha(2A)

highly selective, potent α2-adrenoceptor agonist, analgesic, anxiolytic, bradycardic, hypotensive, sedative, hypothermic

Drug Function and Efficacy

Dexmedetomidine is a relatively selective α2-adrenergic receptor agonist with sedative effects. When animals were slowly intravenously infused with 10 to 300 μg/kg of dexmedetomidine, selective effects on α2-adrenergic receptors were observed, but at higher doses (≥1000 μg/kg), slow intravenous infusion or rapid intravenous injection had effects on both α1 and α2-receptors.

Indication	Anesthetics/Sedatives/Hypnotics/Opioids The simultaneous administration of this product with anesthetics, sedatives, hypnotics and opioids may result in enhanced drug effects. Foreign research reports have determined the effects of dexmedetomidine hydrochloride with sevoflurane, isoflurane, propofol, alfentanil and midazolam. There are no pharmacokinetic interactions between dexmedetomidine and isoflurane, propofol, alfentanil and midazolam. However, due to possible pharmacodynamic interactions, it may be required to reduce the dose of this product or concomitant anesthetics, sedatives, hypnotics and opioids when this product is administered simultaneously. Neuromuscular blockade In a foreign study of 10 healthy volunteers, dexmedetomidine hydrochloride was administered for 45 minutes at a plasma concentration of 1 ng/ml without causing a clinically significant increase in the degree of neuromuscular blockade associated with rocuronium bromide administration.
