Description

Fine White to Off-White Crystalline PowderRisedronate sodium is a nitrogen-containing bisphosphonate that inhibits osteoclast-mediated bone resorption and modulates bone metabolism. Risedronate sodium is used for the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis to reduce the risk of vertebral fractures, treatment of established postmenopausal osteoporosis to reduce the risk of hip fractures, treatment of osteoporosis in men at high risk of fractures, and treatment of Paget’s disease.

Risedronate sodium is a 1,1-bis(phosphonic acid).|Risedronate Sodium is the sodium salt of risedronic acid, a synthetic pyridinyl bisphosphonate. Risedronic acid binds to hydroxyapatite crystals in bone and inhibits osteoclast-dependent bone resorption.|A pyridine and diphosphonic acid derivative that acts as a CALCIUM CHANNEL BLOCKER and inhibits BONE RESORPTION.

Drug Function and Efficacy

It can bind to hydroxyapatite in bones and inhibit bone resorption. At the cellular level, this product inhibits osteoclasts, reduces bone turnover and absorption at bone remodeling sites, inhibits osteoclasts in osteoporosis model rats and miniature pigs, increases bone mass and bone biomechanical strength, and the increase in bone density is dose-related.

This ingredient has been used in drugs with the following functions (note: it does not mean that the ingredient itself has the following health functions)
