Hermes beauty rose 19.3%, perfume category continued to pull
Hermès, a French luxury goods group, said on Thursday that its third quarter results were strong, with sales up 32.5% and 24% at a constant exchange rate. In the three months to the end of September, the company's sales reached 3.136 billion euros (about 22.4 billion yuan), and the business lines of ready to wear, accessories, watches and cosmetics recorded significant growth in the third quarter.
Sales in Asia, excluding Japan, rose 21% in nine months and 34% in the third quarter alone. The region continues to maintain a strong momentum. Although Macao, Chengdu and Dalian were temporarily closed in July and August due to COVID-19 measures, sales in Greater China rebounded strongly.
At the same time, the Japanese market, supported by high consumption local customers, saw a 21% increase in sales. In Ginza, the renovated men's space floor reopened in September this year. In June this year, the La Fabrice de La l é g è ret é exhibition with the annual theme was warmly welcomed in Tokyo.
In the United States, Hermes' sales increased by 28%, thanks to the opening of new stores and some special events. Tourism channels have also recovered, especially in France, Britain and Italy.
It is worth mentioning that in the third quarter, Hermes perfume cosmetics recorded a 9.2% increase to 113 million euros (about 800 million yuan). In the first nine months of this year, perfume and cosmetics increased by 19.3% to 344 million euros (about 2.436 billion yuan).
Benefiting from the strong growth of beauty products, especially perfume, Hermes recently added an unexpected product - children's perfume "Cabriole" in its beauty product series.
It is reported that the modified product was modulated by Christine Nagel, director of creation and olfactory inheritance of Herm è s Parfums. Christine Nagel emphasized, "I try to create a kind of soothing and distinctive scented water, which symbolizes the bond between parents and children."
In addition, in the first nine months, Hermes' sales of leather goods and harness increased by 19% to 3.663 billion euros (25.940 billion yuan), sales of ready to wear and accessories increased by 45.4% to 2.377 billion euros (16.833 billion yuan), and sales of silk and textile sector increased by 33.8% to 579 million euros (4.1 billion yuan).
So far, Hermes' comprehensive income in fiscal year has reached 8.611 billion euros (60.98 billion yuan), an increase of 30% at the current exchange rate. Axel Dumas, executive chairman of the company, said that the company is confident in the future and has a grand goal of achieving revenue growth at a constant exchange rate.
However, Hermes also said that it is very likely to raise the price by 5% to 10% next year, which is higher than in the past. In previous years, the price of Hermes has risen by 2%, and in 2022, it will rise by 4%.
