American Chemistry Council cancels GlobalChem Conference and Exhibition
American Chemistry Council (ACC) released the following statement regarding the cancelation of the 2020 GlobalChem Conference and Exhibition:
"The American Chemistry Council takes the health and safety of its staff, members and the general public seriously. We have closely monitored the Covid-19 situation and taken the guidance of all local, federal and international health authorities as we have formulated our response to this rapidly evolving issue. With the current public information at hand, ACC leadership made the decision to cancel the GlobalChem Conference and Exhibition scheduled for 6-8 April 2020, at the Grand Hyatt Washington in Washington, DC.”
"These uncertain times have resulted in quite a few logistical items that need to be addressed. Those who have signed up for GlobalChem will receive a follow-up communication regarding registration refunds within the next few days. Registrants should contact the Grand Hyatt directly to cancel their hotel reservations. ACC appreciates everyone's patience and understanding. All other questions can be sent to online@americanchemistry.com or (202) 249-6121.”
"ACC holds GlobalChem to a high standard as the premier forum for information sharing in the chemicals management arena. The efforts made in shaping GlobalChem 2020's programme has reinforced ACC's commitment to providing an event with a high level of value for the industry. As such, we are looking ahead to the late spring, or early summer time frame to re-engage the hundreds of industry professionals, vendors and government representatives that would benefit from GlobalChem. Rest assured that while the 2020 conference has been cancelled, we continue to explore all avenues in sharing the latest developments on the global management of chemicals."
