AcetoUK acquires British fine chemicals supplier Syntor

ECHEMI 2020-04-27

Recently, Aceto, a well-known American chemical company, acquired British fine chemicals supplier Syntor Fine Chemicals.

Aceto is a virtual manufacturer (relative to the original equipment manufacturer) that provides materials for the life sciences, nutrition, agriculture and advanced technology end markets. It is invested by private equity company New Mountain Capital.

Aceto said the acquisition is a step in the company's strategic growth plan for life sciences. Gilles Cottier, CEO of Aseto, said: "Syntor's synthesis and formulation capabilities enhance Aseto's existing services and expand our value-added products in life science materials. With Syntor By joining the technical team, we can not only provide existing high-quality special materials, but also enhance our ability to customize products.

Syntor will operate under the name "Syntor by Aceto" and it is expected that all employees will retain their current positions.
