BASF launches new stabilizer raw materials, pure natural and biodegradable
Recently, BASF announced the development of a 100% natural and biodegradable environmentally friendly material Lamesoft® Balance to stabilize the ingredients in the skin and hair cleansing formula.
Lamesoft®Balance is a natural, cold-processable compound designed to stabilize the dispersion of opacified waxes in personal care rinses. It meets today's demand for environmentally friendly raw materials, thereby meeting the needs of environmentally conscious consumers.
It is said that Lamesoft® Balance acts as a natural structural enhancer in surfactant-based systems and can stabilize wax-based opacifiers in rinsing applications, even in low-viscosity formulations. The result of its use is that the finished formula has uniform rheology.
It is composed of hydrogenated castor oil and vegetable oleyl alkyl glycosides (APG). It can prevent the aggregation of small particles and reduce the sedimentation rate of wax in surfactant systems, especially in those systems that can thicken micelles.
Hans-Martin Hacker, head of market development at BASF Personal Care, said: “It is often very challenging to stabilize the fine wax dispersion in the rinse formulation.” BASF now provides An easily biodegradable solution helps skin and hair cleansing product manufacturers to stabilize their formulations without using synthetic polymers. This product is also suitable for other surfactant systems.
Performance and sensory tests have shown that Lamesoft® Balance enhances the foam performance in shower gel formulations and provides a pleasant skin feel. In shampoos containing cationic conditioners, Lamesoft® Balance has been proven to significantly improve hair care efficacy. According to the standards of COSMOS and NATRUE, it is considered suitable for the formulation of natural cosmetics.
