BMW invested 2 billion euros to build a battery plant in Hungarian

BMW will double its investment in Hungary Factory to 2 billion euros, adding a battery assembly facility for electric vehicles, and will create more than 500 jobs.

BMW said on Friday that the battery component in the Debreson plant will help simplify the production and logistics of its next -generation electric vehicles. These electric vehicles will use the "Neue Klasse" support structure. The output of cars and batteries is planned to start at the end of 2025.

This factory in Debelson is the core of BMW and Tesla's competition, and Tesla continues to occupy a dominant position in global electric vehicle sales. The goal of this headquarters in Munich is to reduce the battery cost by focusing on the new platform of electric vehicles and increase the range and charging speed by 30%compared with existing models.

"In Droblerson, we are building the world's most advanced factories," said Milan Nedeljkovic, a member of the BMW Management Commission.

In Debelson, the battery will be assembled as a metal shell, and then integrated to the lower part of the vehicle. The construction of a battery assembly facility covering an area of about 140,000 square meters has begun.

In addition, the Ningde era signed an agreement of 7.3 billion euros to establish a second battery factory in Europe, making Hungary the increasingly important center of European electric vehicles. This is the largest investment in the company's history. It will provide products for Mercedes-Benz Group and Stellandis NV with factory car manufacturers nearby.

The world's largest electric vehicle battery manufacturer has become a BMW supplier through a factory in Elford, Germany. BMW plans to produce 150,000 cars an annual output of 150,000 cars at 124 miles east of Budapest. The factory will be the first new factory in Europe for more than 20 years.
