CPMA Looks Ahead at North American Economic Trends at Spring Meeting
Dr. Deepak Parikh, CEO and region president of Clariant Corporation North America, shared insight on the latest economic trends impacting the color pigments industry during the Color Pigments Manufacturers Association (CPMA) Members’ Meeting on March 14 in Charlotte, N.C. Dr. Parikh serves as region president of four Clariant global business sectors, care chemicals, catalysis, natural resources and plastics and coatings. He holds 45 US patents and has previously worked for Dow Chemical and DuPont.
Dr. Parikh described key economic trends influencing the growth of the chemical industry sector in North America. These include growth in energy and upstream industry sectors, increased manufacturing production and import costs, onshoring, and demand for chemicals and materials.
Industry leaders also discussed how these mega trends may drive consumer opinions along with application of color pigments in commerce.

Color pigment applications are prominent in agriculture, paints and coatings, food and drug, digital printing, packaging, plastics, personal care products, cosmetics, building materials and medical devices.
