The United States has released its annual update on Salmonella surveillance and testing at poultry producers across the country
On October 20, 2022, the US Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) released its annual Salmonella surveillance test results for poultry producers across the United States. According to statistics, from September 26, 2021 to September 24, 2022, FSIS monitored a total of 754 poultry meat production enterprises, and the monitoring and monitoring products involved chicken carcass, Turkey carcass, divided chicken, chicken ground, Turkey ground and other five products. The number of Salmonella positive samples exceeded the maximum allowable number in the window period, that is, the number of enterprises that did not meet the safety and health control standards of poultry meat production enterprises was 11.7%, among which the safety and health control level of minced meat production enterprises was the worst. The number of chicken minced meat and Turkey minced meat enterprises that did not meet the safety and health control standards accounted for 37.5% and 31.25% of the same kind of enterprises, respectively. The number of chicken minced meat enterprises that did not meet the safety and health control standards accounted for 66.67% of the same kind of enterprises.
