Mango leaf extract helps brain health
According to a latest double-blind, placebo, controlled crossover study, a single dose of mango leaf extract Zynamite can promote a wide range of brain functions in at least 5 hours. Mango leaf extract has a long history of medicinal use. The literature shows that the polyphenols contained in it are beneficial to brain function, and previous rodent and human pilot studies have shown that mango leaf extracts containing high levels of polyphenol mangiferin may be beneficial to humans. Brain function has beneficial effects, including enhancement of cognitive function.
The current study published in "Nutrition" has investigated the effect of a single dose of mango leaf extract on cognitive function and mood. The standard mango leaf extract contains >60% mangiferin. This study is also the first evaluation of mangiferin Research on the impact of human cognitive function.
The main person in charge of the study is Professor David Kennedy, director of the Brain, Performance and Nutrition Research Center of Northumbria University. The study passed a double-blind, placebo, and controlled crossover design of 70 healthy young adults (18- 45 years old) received 300 mg of Zynamite and an equivalent amount of placebo for a duration of more than 7 days.
The day before the treatment, the research team assessed the participants’ cognitive function and mood to determine their basic performance, and then assessed them again 30 minutes, 3 hours, and 5 hours after receiving the treatment. At the same time, using the COMPAS test, the research team measured different aspects of cognitive function, which reflected the participants' comprehensive scores for their ability to concentrate and their memory functions. The research team found that the participants improved in all aspects of cognitive function after taking a dose of supplement.
Compared with taking a placebo, the participants performed more accurately in the task of testing attention and memory, and performed well in every task that required brain power. Obviously, better concentration and better memory are important for various mental functions in daily life.
Zynamite produced by Nektium, a Spanish nutrition company, is a patented plant extract that has been clinically proven to provide significant and sustained improvements in mental and physical performance. Studies have shown that Zynamite activates brain waves in almost the same mode as caffeine, but uses a different mechanism and does not produce any side effects of caffeine.
