Dr. Markus Steilemann to Take Over as Covestro CEO From June
German material science company, Covestro’s CEO Mr. Patrick Thomas will hand over charge to Dr. Markus Steilemann, currently Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), on June 1, 2018.
The company said its Supervisory Board has agreed on an amicable retirement of Mr. Thomas’ tenure as CEO effective May 31, 2018. Mr. Thomas contract as CEO would have originally ended on September 30, 2018. In May last year, Mr. Thomas had informed the Board that he would not be available for a further term beyond 2018. Subsequently, the Board appointed Dr. Steilemann as his successor as CEO of Covestro. Mr. Tho-mas has been CEO of Covestro and its predecessor Bayer MaterialScience since 2007.
