Evonik joins the China-EU Rail Innovation Alliance
Recently, the China-EU Rail Transit Green Industry Innovation Alliance (RETI) was established in Qingdao, which was jointly initiated by several leading domestic rail transit enterprises and multinational advanced material suppliers. As one of the main initiators, Evonik Industries Group formally joined RETI and was elected as the vice-chairman of the alliance.
RETI was established to promote upstream and downstream collaborative innovation and development in the rail transit industry, so as to accelerate the development, testing and application of new products. The members of the alliance include more than 50 enterprises and units, including rail transit vehicle equipment, rail transit advanced material manufacturers, parts and components, intelligent equipment manufacturers and scientific research institutions.
With years of experience and technology accumulation in rail transit material development, Evonik has high-performance rail transit materials, including composite materials that can realize lightweight design of train structural components, water-based coating additives that reduce emissions, high-efficiency and environmentally friendly adhesives for train components, which can help to create more energy-efficient, more efficient, safer and more comfortable rail transit-related products and help China's rail transit industry to achieve green and high-quality development.
Zhu Jun, Vice President of Regional Development of Evonik Greater China, said: "Through RETI's platform, we will actively share our knowledge and experience in the development and application of new materials for rail transit. We look forward to working together with our alliance members to promote more innovative and sustainable material solutions applicable to the local market for rapid implementation."
