Belico recalled infant formula suspected to be contaminated with Cronobacter Sakazaki

Perrigo Company plc is recalling certain batches of infant formula due to possible contamination with Cronobacter Sakazaki, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the FDA issued a recall notice on March 17, 2023.

The recalled product, the name of which is Gerber Good Start SoothePro (Powdered Infant formula), was manufactured at the company's facility in Gateway Eau Claire, Wis., between January 2 and 18, 2023.

The product is sold in retail stores across the United States. Consumers who buy the product after March 5, 2023 should look for the following lot number and "Best by date," which can be found at the bottom of the package. The recall does not affect other products with batch codes.

At this time, no distributed products have tested positive for the bacteria and no adverse events have been reported. The FDA is advising consumers to return the affected products to the store where they were purchased for a full refund.
