The European Union has approved baked euryale seed from third countries to be marketed as a traditional food
On 21 March 2023, according to the Official Journal of the European Union, the European Commission published Regulation (EU) 2023/652 which, in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 2015/2283 of the European Parliament and of the Council, roasted and popped kernels from the seeds of Euryale ferox Salisb. And to amend the annex to the Implementing Regulation of the European Commission (EU) 2017/2470 concerning the requirements for the use of new foodstuffs.
These regulations shall take effect twenty (20) days from the date of promulgation.
