It is reported that the utilization rate of basic ethylene production equipment in Japanese chemical products in February was 81.1%, which fell below 90%for seven consecutive months. The Association said that in addition to the impact of high price caused by high prices, the demand for the Chinese market during the Spring Festival holiday was also lower than expected. The output of ethylene in the month was 433,600 tons, a year -on -year decrease of 1%. Compared with a set of production equipment in the same month last year for regular maintenance, although there is no regular maintenance of equipment in February this year, the output still declines. The utilization rate of ethylene equipment in the same month last year was 92.3%, which fell more than 10 percentage points in February this year.

Iwaka Kyoko Iwa Kyoko Iwaki, president of the Japan Petrochemical Industry Association, said at the press conference that the difficult situation in 2023 will continue, but it has high hopes for the rise of the Chinese economy. Iwada Kiyoshi pointed out that with the recovery of demand in the Chinese market, Japanese companies' utilization of new factories in China and other parts of Asia in the past two years will increase.
