Ginkgo Bioworks has entered into a partnership with Syngenta to develop new traits in next-generation seeds

 Ginkgo Bioworks, a company building a platform for cell programming and biosecurity, announced a research partnership with Syngenta Seeds, one of the world's leading agricultural technology companies, to focus on screening targeted gene banks for the discovery of new traits. The research aims to inform the future development of seed traits so that farmers can grow healthier, more resilient crops.

Under the partnership agreement, Ginkgo and Syngenta will work together to leverage Ginkgo's extensive protein engineering capabilities and exclusive ultra-high throughput screening technology to complement and accelerate Syngenta's work in designing and developing plant traits.
