Syngenta launches its new soil health service INTERRA®Scan in the Netherlands and Belgium

2023-08-24

From 1 August, Syngenta is offering a new service, INTERRA®Scan, to growers in the Netherlands and Belgium. INTERRA®Scan's ability to map the soil with great accuracy enables growers to make simpler, informed decisions for more targeted use of inputs, which not only means increased productivity, but also represents a more sustainable long-term soil health practice.

This innovative service produces high-resolution soil maps with 27 layers of information. The benefit of INTERRA®Scan is its ability to accurately visualize the texture, nutrient content and carbon content of the soil, enabling growers to optimize nutrient and carbon retention regardless of soil moisture, compactness, cover or growing conditions. Therefore, this service can work in a variety of situations.

INTERRA®Scan provides immediate economic value to growers and is a potential long-term solution to reduce CO2 emissions and combat climate change through regenerative agricultural practices. The digital platform gives growers access to a unique and detailed map of soil properties, easily generating different application/fertilization dose maps. With INTERRA®Scan, growers can make the right decisions about what products to apply, where and in what dosage.

As head of sales for Syngenta in Belgium, Flemish farmer Johan de Dobbelaere is always looking for ways to maximise the health and productivity of his land while minimising the ecological footprint. INTERRA®Scan is able to closely monitor field conditions so that it can react quickly to changes and make proactive decisions. This service means less guesswork, greater precision and increased productivity, while working in a sustainable way.

In the Netherlands, INTERRA®Scan was initially offered by a small number of distribution companies. In Belgium, growers can register directly for use.
