Aston Chemicals' Innovative Lotion de l’Ocean Wins SCS Formulate Prize

Aston Chemicals has been honored with the esteemed Laura Marshall Memorial Award for Innovation at the SCS Formulate exhibition in Coventry, UK. The renowned British distributor clinched the award for its groundbreaking Lotion de l’Ocean concept, a zinc-only SPF30 body lotion formulated with Carbonwave’s Seabalance 2000 upcycled seaweed emulsifier.

Aston Chemicals has won the annual Laura Marshall Memorial Award for Innovation at the SCS Formulate show in Coventry, UK.

Lou Graydon, the technical development manager at Aston Chemicals, highlighted the unique features of Lotion de l’Ocean, stating, “By utilizing Seabalance 2000 as the exclusive emulsifier, Lotion de l’Ocean offers transparent, zinc-oxide only, SPF30 protection with a non-greasy skin feel.” She further emphasized that the innovative lotion is transparent on all skin tones, setting it apart in the cosmetics market.

The Laura Marshall Memorial Award commemorates the legacy of the former chair of the SCS Formulate Scientific Programme Committee, who tragically passed away in 2014. This prestigious accolade serves as a testament to the continuous pursuit of innovation and excellence in the cosmetics industry.
