Kraton Announces Strategic Plan to Streamline Polymer Operations in Berre, France
Kraton Corporation, a global leader in specialty polymers and high-value, pine-based sustainable products, today announced a strategic plan to streamline its polymer operations at its Berre, France facility. Under this plan, the site will focus on producing unsaturated styrenic block copolymers (USBC) and discontinue the production of hydrogenated styrenic block copolymers (HSBC).
On October 23, 2025, Kraton initiated an information and consultation process with employee representatives in Berre. A final decision on the plan may be made following the completion of the mandatory consultation period.
Prakash Kolluri, President of Kraton Polymers, stated:“The objective of this plan is to strengthen Kraton’s long-term competitive position by optimizing our manufacturing footprint in response to global market changes and excess HSBC capacity. This action reinforces Kraton’s position as a leading global producer of HSBC and prepares the company for a sustainable and resilient future. We remain fully committed to supporting our customers throughout this transition and will continue to supply HSBC products through our unmatched global manufacturing network.”
Kolluri emphasized that Kraton recognizes the potential impact of this decision and is committed to ensuring a safe, respectful, and supportive transition. The health, safety, and well-being of employees remain the company’s highest priority.
With operations across multiple continents and a broad portfolio of innovative solutions, Kraton will continue to deliver market-driven innovation and leverage the strength and flexibility of its global business to quickly adapt to evolving market dynamics and customer needs.
