EFSA has released a report on the environmental monitoring and assessment of genetically modified maize MON 810 after its marketing

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has published an environmental monitoring assessment report for genetically modified maize MON 810 after it is planted in 2021. A survey of farmers growing GM maize MON 810 in Spain and Portugal found that all Portuguese farmers and 97% of Spanish farmers complied with the report's safe planting requirements.
In the sample survey of Spanish maize, no resistance of corn borer to the transgenic maize was found. Ultimately, EFSA believes that the cultivation of GM maize MON 810 does not pose safety concerns for human and animal health or the environment.
