Indian Peroxide launches hydrogen peroxide plant in Gujarat

Indian Peroxide Ltd. (IPL), one of India’s major manufacturers and suppliers of specialty chemicals, has launched its new hydrogen peroxide (HP) plant complex in Gujarat. The state-of-the-art manufacturing facility produces industrial grade, premium quality and environmental friendly hydrogen peroxide. With best-in-class production process, IPL offers hydrogen peroxide in 35%, 50% and 60% concentration.
Along with new plant complex, IPL plans to invest Rs. 750-crore in next 3-5 years, including capacity expansion for other chemical units, leveraging synergy with the new HP plant. Located in Dahej, the manufacturing facility with a capacity of 45,000-tpa of HP started its first commercial delivery on October 10, 2018. The chemical complex, spread across 150,000-sq.m., is one of the biggest HP manufacturing facilities in India. The production process is based on proprietary technology offered by EB Nuberg (Sweden).
The plant aims to serve increasing local demand primarily for premium quality and high concentration grades of HP used in applications within the paper & pulp, textile and wastewater treatment industries, among other applications. With a focus on environment, IPL uses a zero waste discharge process, with recycling of water and chemicals so as to leave no liquid wastes in the whole production process. The HP produced will be supplied in 35-kg and 50-kg carboys and tankers of 20-25 tonnes capacity.
The new plant will help India in saving significant part of its HP import bill. In 2017, India imported about 25% of its total HP consumption.
