KLJ Group building new chloro-toluene derivative facility at Jhagadia

The KLJ Group, a diversified industrial group that manufactures and markets a wide range of plasticizers, chloro paraffins and polymer compounds, is expanding its Indian manufacturing footprint by opening a new chloro-toluene derivatives plant in Jhagadia, Gujarat.
The new plant will have a capacity to produce nearly 35,000-tpa of high quality Benzyl alcohol, Benzaldehyde, Benzyl Acetate and other derivatives by 2019, with additional room for future expansion. When completed, it will take the company’s total chloro-toluene derivative capacity to 50,000-tpa.
The plant has been under construction since March 2018 and is expected to commence production by September 2019. The plant will be co-located with KLJ’s existing chloro-toluene derivative plant, which has an existing capacity of 15,000-tpa. “Chloro-toluene derivatives have a strong growth potential and this investment reflects our commitment to serve our growing base of customers and shall enable us to offer the excellent customer service, innovative products, new technology and efficient manufacturing processes, that our customers expect,” the company said in a press release.
“The rapid construction of this new plant was made possible by KLJ’s existing presence globally and it clearly show-cases our ability to leverage our assets across multiple platforms,” the release added.
Headquartered at New Delhi, the KLJ Group has six manufacturing plants in India, Thailand and Qatar.
