CHINAPLAS 2024: BASF and Li Ning launch Elastollan TPU fully recyclable concept shoes
BASF will present a 100% fully recyclable Elastollan thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) concept shoe at Chinaplas 2024, created in partnership with leading Chinese sports brand Li Ning.
The all-TPU concept shoe offers design freedom thanks to the high-performance material solution Elastollan. It's also lightweight and comfortable while offering excellent mechanical properties, including durability and slip resistance.
Marilyn Lye, Vice President Asia Pacific, BASF Performance Materials, said:" The collaboration between Li Ning and BASF demonstrates how we can create a win-win situation to achieve business and sustainability goals in the footwear sector. The advanced technology and recycled materials we bring to the concept shoe are a great example of moving the entire footwear production value chain forward on a sustainability journey. "
Through this cooperation with BASF, Li-Ning looks forward to providing professional product experience and sports experience for sports enthusiasts, while jointly exploring the feasibility of fully recyclable footwear. Li Ning has always pursued breakthroughs and innovation in the field of sports technology.
