The Vietnamese Halal Food Market Is Expected To Continue Growing
On June 17, 2024, according to a report from the Vietnam People's Daily online, the Vietnamese halal food market is experiencing rapid growth and is expected to maintain this growth momentum in the coming years.
Industry experts have conducted an in-depth analysis, attributing this growth trend to the following factors:
1. The global Muslim population is continuously expanding. According to data from the Pew Research Center, the global Muslim population is expected to reach 2.2 billion by 2030, and this massive population base will further drive the demand for halal food in the Muslim market.
2. Vietnam has significant advantages. Vietnam's geographical location provides clear advantages in agriculture, food processing, and tourism. Additionally, Vietnam actively participates in important regional economic cooperation mechanisms and is deeply integrated into the international community. The Vietnamese government also attaches great importance to and supports enterprises in exploring the global halal food market, providing a favorable development environment for businesses.
3. Vietnamese enterprises are actively positioning themselves in the halal food market. Currently, about 50 Vietnamese companies have successfully obtained halal certification, mainly involving seafood, beverages, canned foods, candies, vegetarian products, and pharmaceuticals. Particularly for the Indonesian market, Vietnamese enterprises have a strong positive outlook, as the country has a Muslim population of about 87%, with immense potential for halal food demand.
However, the development of the halal food industry also faces some challenges. Currently, there is no unified global halal food standard, the customs coding regulations are not yet perfect, and many Islamic countries require mandatory halal certification. These factors pose certain constraints on the further development of the Vietnamese halal food industry.
To this end, the relevant Vietnamese authorities are actively taking measures to address these challenges. They are committed to optimizing production processes, improving product quality, and strengthening international cooperation in order to expand the production and export scale of Vietnamese halal food.
Overall, the Vietnamese halal food market has a broad development prospect. With the active efforts of relevant enterprises to seize market opportunities and the support of the government, the Vietnamese halal food industry is expected to achieve better development.
