Insulet Turns Insulin Pod Sounds into Catchy Summer Song

ECHEMI 2024-07-23

With summer just around the corner, are you wondering what this year's hot summer song will be like? Surprisingly, that honor went to an unlikely company - medical device manufacturer Insulet, who came up with an innovative song!

Insulet, The world-renowned maker of the Omnipod insulin pump, recently teamed up with renowned YouTuber and music producer Andrew Huang to cleverly use the various sounds generated by the Omnipod 5 replacement to create a melodiously beautiful song called "The Pod Drop." The song has been released on all major music platforms and has been widely praised by patients and music fans.

Lucas Escobar, Insulet's head of marketing, said the company noticed many Omnipod users sharing the moment they changed their insulin cans on social media, often amplifying subtle details like clicking and buzzing. Recognizing that these sounds have become part of patients' daily lives, the company decided to incorporate them into music creation, enabling Omnipod users to naturally incorporate the song into their social content, thereby enhancing the experience of changing insulin cans.

To further enhance engagement with users, Insulet announced that the company will donate $1 to the Breakthrough T1D charity, up to a maximum of $5,000, for every user who shares using the song on social media. It was certainly a meaningful event that both increased brand exposure and supported the relevant non-profit organizations.

We look forward to seeing more of these innovative and interesting marketing campaigns that integrate diabetes management devices into their daily lifestyle to provide users with a better experience."
