Skin By Noor launches anti-aging serum based on date palm pollen
Skin By Noor has launched an ultra-natural nourishing serum with anti-aging benefits, which, according to the company, is provided by a new cosmetic ingredient, date palm pollen (DPP). Studies have reportedly confirmed that the components of DPP grains protect against oxidative stress, UV radiation and microorganisms.
Skin By Noor attributes the benefits of DPP to its rich content of polyphenols, flavonoids (antioxidants), terpenoids (antimicrobials), fatty acids, amino acids, minerals (zinc, iron, manganese and other nutrients), as well as vitamins A (retinol), E and C. The company describes DPP as an “all-natural anti-aging and regenerative skincare elixir” that delivers multiple desirable effects using just one ingredient.
“Each grain of pollen is essentially a tiny capsule filled with bioactive ingredients designed by nature to protect and repair life’s most precious molecule – DNA,” the company explains. "On the skin, these pollen grains act as an effective delivery system for these bioactive ingredients."
Skin By Noor also highlights that DPP is the male reproductive cell of the date palm tree Phoenix dactylifera, which the ancient Egyptians used for nutrition, fertility, rejuvenation, health and healing.
Today, pharmacist Dr. Rashad Tawashi and naturopath Dr. Salma Hassouna have repurposed this ingredient, which is reportedly harvested in just two weeks each year, to develop a proprietary anti-aging formula.
