Chemours Invests Heavily to Create Battery Innovation Center: Electric Vehicle Industry May Face Disruptive Changes!

According to a report in Rechargeable Electric Vehicle magazine, chemical giant Chemours has begun to invest a lot of time and resources in the field of electric vehicle batteries to meet the challenges of global climate change. As further reported by Rechargeable Electric Vehicle magazine, Chemours is now planning to set up a new Battery Innovation Center (CBIC) at its Discovery Center in Newark, Delaware. At this center, Chemus will begin testing next-generation battery technologies and work to find ways to scale these advanced batteries. Battery technology is constantly improving, and each technological breakthrough leads to more efficient, more powerful, lighter, and longer-lasting battery products. Some of the latest battery versions also feature entirely new combinations of materials that not only make the battery more affordable, but also significantly less damaging to the Earth's environment. All of these advances will lead to better performance electric vehicles for consumers that will allow drivers to travel longer distances after each charge, which is good for consumers and the environment as a whole.

Gerardo Familiar, president of Chemours' Advanced Performance Materials division, elaborated that some of the company's Teflon chemicals are "critical to the development of solvent-free battery electrode manufacturing, which opens the way for more cost-effective vehicles." "Through the Chemus Battery Innovation Center, we can take this new dry electrode coating technology and expand it," he added.
