Wood awarded Saudi Aramco engineering services contract
Wood, a leading global consulting and engineering company, has been awarded a major engineering services contract for Aramco’s Southern and Northern Regions Gas Increment Project in Saudi Arabia. The project, planned to take one million engineering hours, will support the country’s goal of increasing gas production.
Wood will provide Project Management Consultancy (PMC) services, including Pre-FEED and FEED engineering for Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Gas Facilities, including large-scale onshore gas production and processing facilities. The scope also includes EPC contracting support for future phases.
Craig Shanaghey, Wood’s Executive President of Projects, said: “Gas is a critical transition fuel that can have a direct positive impact on carbon emissions associated with energy production. Building on our 30-year relationship with Aramco, we are pleased to support this major expansion project. The Southern and Northern Regions Gas Increment will meet the world’s growing energy and efficiency needs.
“Our specialist engineering and project delivery teams excel in solving large-scale and complex challenges. We look forward to applying our global capabilities to deliver this world-class project.”
The seven-year project will employ more than 400 Wood employees, primarily in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, Reading, UK, and Chennai, India.
