BASF expands ammonium chloride production capacity at Ludwigshafen site by 50%

ECHEMI 2024-12-12

BASF has expanded its ammonium chloride production capacity at its Ludwigshafen site, increasing production capacity by 50% and improving product quality. Following the successful commissioning of the plant, BASF is meeting the growing demand for high-quality ammonium chloride with a more efficient production process.

“The commissioning of the expanded production facility is an important milestone in the future supply of ammonium chloride to our customers. At the same time, it is an investment in product quality so that our products will continue to meet the stringent regulatory requirements for food and feed applications in the future,” said Dr. Jan Nouwen, Senior Vice President of Isocyanates and Precursors Europe at BASF.

By investing in an advanced ammonium chloride process that is integrated into the production complex and therefore extremely efficient, BASF underlines its long-term commitment to remaining a reliable and world-leading supplier of ammonium chloride. The optimized process enables the production of ammonium chloride with even higher quality to meet the future needs of the industry.
