Sinopec Chuanwei Chemical Expands VAE Annual Capacity to 180,000 Tons
Recently, Sinopec Chuanwei Chemical successfully conducted its first trial run of the 60,000 tons/year VAE (Vinyl Acetate-Ethylene Copolymer Emulsion) expansion project, producing qualified products on its initial feed. With this achievement, Chuanwei Chemical’s VAE production capacity now reaches 180,000 tons/year, solidifying its position as the most comprehensive VAE producer in China and reinforcing its status as the top market player domestically.
VAE is a high-performance, environmentally friendly water-based emulsion widely utilized in sectors such as construction, real estate, furniture, and packaging. The new 60,000 tons/year expansion project focuses on customized and differentiated production of high-end products, such as waterproof coatings, which fill a significant gap in the domestic market. Through upgrades to core equipment, production efficiency has been enhanced, leading to improved product quality and advancing VAE offerings toward more high-end applications.
As one of the earliest producers of VAE products in China, Chuanwei Chemical was the first to draft the national standards for VAE products. The company has also received dual certification for green products and environmental labels. Moving forward, it aims to accelerate technological breakthroughs and the transformation of research outcomes while expanding its integrated production, sales, and research advantages. Continuous optimization of its product structure will further strengthen its position in the fine chemical and high-end new materials industries.
