Specialty Chemicals Giant Synthomer Launches Innovation Center in Shanghai to Meet Chinese Market Needs
Synthomer, a leading global supplier of high-performance specialty chemicals, held a grand opening ceremony for its newly completed China Innovation Center at the Shanghai International Chemical New Materials Innovation Center.
The opening of the China Innovation Center is a major milestone for Synthomer, demonstrating the company's continued commitment to China, the world's largest chemical market, and its strategic focus on providing sustainable and innovative solutions to meet customer needs.
The 2,000-square-meter state-of-the-art facility enhances Synthomer's ability to develop high-performance, highly specialized polymers and innovative ingredients that are used in everyday life for adhesives, coatings, construction, health and protection, renewable energy and electric vehicles, and to build partnerships with Synthomer's customers in the region.
A team of scientists, technicians and technical service managers will work at the center, which provides more than 10 R&D laboratories, offices and collaborative workspaces. The Shanghai Innovation Center works in synergy with its other five global innovation centers of excellence and seven technical centers, aiming to further strengthen its presence in key global markets and promote close collaboration with customers.
Michael Willome, Chief Executive Officer, commented: “The opening of the China Innovation Center is an important strategic milestone as we continue to invest in our organic growth capabilities as well as our geographic and customer coverage. This new facility enhances our innovation capabilities and enables us to work more closely with our customers and strengthen our position in the Chinese market where we see exciting growth opportunities. Sustainability and innovation are at the core of our growth strategy, which is designed to build on our portfolio of specialized, highly differentiated products.”
