Withdrawal of Hunan Zhongchuang Chemical's IPO Application Shakes Market
On March 30, the Shanghai Stock Exchange announced the termination of the review process for Hunan Zhongchuang Chemical Co., Ltd.'s initial public offering (IPO) on the Shanghai Main Board. This decision follows the company's recent withdrawal request submitted on March 28.
The IPO application was officially accepted by the exchange on May 23, 2023, and underwent the necessary review procedures. However, both Zhongchuang Chemical and its sponsor, CITIC Securities Co., Ltd., submitted applications to retract their IPO filing, prompting the Shanghai Stock Exchange to halt the review under Article 63 of its listing rules.
Zhongchuang Chemical is recognized as a high-tech enterprise focused on the production, research, and sale of innovative environmentally friendly solvents. Its main products include n-butyl acetate, isopropyl acetate, and butanone, which find applications in various sectors such as coatings, inks, adhesives, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, and organic synthesis.
As of the signing date of the prospectus, Zhongchuang Chemical's shareholding structure is notably diverse, with no single shareholder holding more than 50% of the total equity. Significant shareholders include Weichuang Partnership, Changlian New Materials, and DeRui Fengyuan, with ownership stakes of 14.29%, 8.73%, and 8.44%, respectively.
The company initially aimed to raise 650 million yuan to fund a 100,000 tons/year electronic-grade carbonate project. The news of the withdrawal raises questions about the company's future plans and market strategy.
