This week, the market price of propylene oxide in China has been weak and stable (9.8-9.11)
September 11th News
This week, the market price of propylene oxide in China remained weak and stable. According to the monitoring system, as of September 11, the benchmark price of propylene oxide was 7,500 CNY per ton, an increase of 0.67% compared to the beginning of the month.
Price influencing factors:
On the raw materials front: This week, the price of propylene—a key raw material—rose, providing strong cost support. However, downstream buyers remained cautious, leading to subdued purchasing activity and putting downward pressure on the overall market price of propylene oxide. According to the market analysis system, as of September 11, the benchmark price for propylene stood at 6,725.75 CNY per ton, up 0.94% from the beginning of the month (6,663.25 CNY per ton).
On the demand side: Downstream demand for propylene oxide remains weak, with a lukewarm purchasing atmosphere and sluggish shipments for businesses. As a result, propylene oxide market prices are expected to fluctuate narrowly in the near term.
Future Market Prediction:
Epoxy propane analysts believe that the high-end support for epoxy propane raw materials is still acceptable, but the downstream market is not actively purchasing, and the trading atmosphere is weak, leading to a decline in market price levels. It is expected that the epoxy propane market in China will mainly experience minor fluctuations in the short term, with more attention needed on raw material prices and changes in supply and demand upstream and downstream.
