According to the commodity market analysis system, as of September 30, the quote for 2-ethylhexanol was 6,666.67 CNY/ton, a fluctuating decrease of 7.62% from the price of 7,216.67 CNY/ton on September 1. In September, the operating rates of 2-ethylhexanol enterprises in China remained high and stable, with the production capacity utilization rate of 2-ethylhexanol equipment stably at 96%. The addition of new 2-ethylhexanol production capacities led to an increase in supply; however, the operating rates of downstream plasticizer enterprises slightly declined, providing limited support for the demand of 2-ethylhexanol. With the increase in supply and limited demand, the price of 2-ethylhexanol experienced a fluctuating decline.

The price of the downstream plasticizer DOP fluctuated and decreased.

According to the commodity market analysis system, as of September 30, the DOP price was 7,367.50 CNY/ton, a decrease from 7,589.17 CNY/ton on September 1, with a price drop of 2.92%. In September, the DOP price fluctuated and declined, DOP enterprises' operating load remained stable, the operating rate slightly decreased, and the support for 2-ethylhexanol demand weakened, leading to a fluctuating decline in the price of 2-ethylhexanol.

Future Market Outlook

The analyst of octanol product data believes that in terms of supply, the operating load of isooctanol enterprises remains at a high level, and with the addition of new isooctanol production capacity, the supply of isooctanol is ample. In terms of demand, the price of DOP has fluctuated and fallen, and the operation rate of DOP enterprises has slightly decreased, leading to a weakening in the support for isooctanol demand. Looking ahead, as the supply of isooctanol increases and the support from demand weakens, it is expected that the price of isooctanol will consolidate at a low level.
