Epoxy Chloropropane Market Remains Stable This Week (10.13-10.15)
October 15, news
According to the monitoring and analysis system, as of October 15th, the benchmark price of epichlorohydrin in China is 12,500.00 CNY/ton, which has increased by 2.46% compared to the beginning of this month (12,200.00 CNY/ton).
Price influencing factors:
On the raw material front: Glycerol propylene prices remain firmly supported at higher levels. High overseas market prices, combined with tight supply, have intensified cost pressures on glycerol-based epichlorohydrin manufacturers, significantly squeezing profit margins and thereby creating strong upward support for epichlorohydrin prices. Currently, the glycerol market is experiencing a pronounced supply-demand imbalance, and it’s expected that cost pressures from the upstream segment will continue to ripple down the downstream epichlorohydrin industry chain in the near term. According to market analysis systems, as of October 15, the benchmark price for propylene stood at 6,380.75 CNY per ton, representing a 2.48% decline compared to the beginning of this month (6,543.25 CNY per ton).
On the demand side: Price pressures from rising epichlorohydrin costs are gradually being passed down the industry chain. Although coating companies are facing significant cost pressures, robust downstream inventory-building demand continues to provide firm support for prices, resulting in a market characterized by both cost-driven increases and steady demand support in the short term. Going forward, epichlorohydrin prices are expected to remain largely stable with mild downward trends.
Market Forecast: Epoxy Chloropropane analysts believe that the prices of glycerol and propylene—key cost components—continue to provide support for epoxy chloropropane, while downstream industries maintain steady, albeit limited, purchasing demand. As a result, epoxy chloropropane market prices are expected to remain generally stable in the near term, though ongoing attention will still be crucial for tracking raw material costs and shifts in supply-and-demand dynamics.
