I. Price Trends

According to the commodity market analysis system, the pure benzene market prices in Shandong region of China fluctuated and increased this month. The price on November 1st was 5,172 CNY/ton; the price on November 28th was 5,247.67 CNY/ton, an increase of 1.46% from the beginning of the month.

2. Market Analysis

Pure benzene: Today, the market price of pure benzene in China has increased. The spot prices in East China are mainly stable. Currently, market participants have a positive outlook for the future of pure benzene, and the market is showing a strong trend. Recently, the sales in Shandong have been good, and the market confidence is high, with local refineries slightly raising their prices. Sinopec's pure benzene prices at its refineries in East China and South China remain stable at 5,300 CNY/ton, effective from November 5th. It is expected that the pure benzene market will experience a range-bound fluctuation in the short term, with actual transactions to be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.

This month, Sinopec's pure benzene price was reduced by 150 CNY/ton to 5,300 CNY/ton.

III. Future Market Forecast

Crude oil futures: On November 27, international crude oil futures rose. The U.S. futures market was closed for Thanksgiving. The February Brent crude oil futures contract settled at $62.87 per barrel, up $0.33, or 0.5%.

Foreign market pure benzene: On November 27, the FOB Korea price for pure benzene rose by $2 to $654 per ton, while the CFR China price increased by $1 to $665 per ton. The FOB Rotterdam price remained stable at $720 per ton, and the FOB U.S. Gulf was closed.

Overall forecast: In the short term, the pure benzene market in China will experience a range-bound fluctuation, with attention on cost and demand factors.
