Berry Plastics Becoming Berry Global Group

2017-04-05

One of the biggest names in plastics processing is getting a new name.
Berry Plastics Group Inc. is changing its name to Berry Global Group Inc. effective April 13, and shares of the company will continue to trade under the BERY symbol on the New York Stock Exchange.
“Our business has transformed significantly since our name became Berry Plastics in 1983,” CEO Tom Salmon said in a statement. “Berry has evolved from one manufacturing facility in Evansville, Indiana, to over 130 facilities throughout the world.”
Salmon, who recently succeeded Jon Rich as CEO, said the company has grown to have annual sales of more than $7 billion. The company had annual sales of less than $25 million in 1983.
“By changing our name to Berry Global we are portraying a more balanced view of who we are to our customers, our investors, and ourselves,” Salmon said in the statement.
And with a new name comes a new logo, the company said.
“Our values serve as the cornerstone of Berry. The icon in the logo illustrates those four values: partnership, excellence, growth, and safety,” Salmon said in the statement.
