I. Price Trends

According to the commodity market analysis system, the price of pure benzene in the Shandong region of China fell this month. The price on January 1st was 5,268.67 CNY per ton; by January 29th, the price had risen to 6,070 CNY per ton, an increase of 15.21% from the beginning of the month.

II. Market Analysis

Pure benzene: Today, the price of pure benzene in China has risen. International crude oil futures have increased, and the price of pure benzene in the external market has also gone up, boosting market confidence in China. Buyers are actively purchasing, and the price of pure benzene continues to rise. In Shandong, local refineries have been encouraged by the increase in oil prices and have significantly raised their bids. The price of pure benzene from Sinopec's plants in East China and South China remains stable at 6,000 CNY per ton, effective from January 28. It is expected that the pure benzene market will remain strong in the short term.

This month, the price of pure benzene from Sinopec in China increased by 700 yuan to 6,000 CNY per ton.

III. Future Market Forecast

Crude Oil Futures: On January 28, international crude oil futures rose. The settlement price for the March contract of U.S. WTI crude oil futures was $63.21 per barrel, up $0.83, or 1.2%. The settlement price for the April contract of Brent crude oil futures was $67.37 per barrel, up $0.78, or 1.2%.

Foreign market benzene: On January 28, FOB Korea rose by $11 to $761 per ton, and CFR China rose by $12 to $763 per ton. FOB Rotterdam fell by $1 to $916 per ton, while FOB USG remained stable at 284 cents per gallon.

Overall forecast: In the short term, the pure benzene market in China is expected to operate strongly, with close attention to cost and demand news. Continue to monitor the impact of crude oil and foreign market trends, as well as changes in the operations of pure benzene and downstream facilities and demand, on the price of pure benzene.
