Supply and Demand Improve, Cyclohexanone Market Rises in February in China

ECHEMI 2026-03-04

March 3 news

According to the commodity market analysis system, on February 28, 2026, the factory price of cyclohexanone in the Shandong region of China was 7,250 CNY/ton. Compared to February 1 (when the cyclohexanone price was 6,900 CNY/ton), the price increased by 350 CNY/ton, a rise of 5.07%.

Price Trend Review

In February (February 1-28), the cyclohexanone market price in Shandong, China, showed a steady upward trend. At the beginning of the month, the market price fluctuated slightly around 7,000 CNY/ton. By late February, the price saw a significant increase, rising rapidly from 7,037 CNY/ton to 7,250 CNY/ton, with a price increase of 3.02% in the last week of the month. By the end of the month, the cyclohexanone market price had risen to around 7,200-7,300 CNY/ton, with a monthly price increase of over 5%.

Core Impact Factors Analysis

Cost support: In February, the market price of pure benzene on the raw material side fluctuated within a narrow range, and the cost support for cyclohexanone remained relatively strong.

Improved Supply-Demand Dynamics: After the Spring Festival, the downstream caprolactam industry has accelerated its resumption of production and operations, leading to a gradual recovery in demand. Meanwhile, maintenance at some cyclohexanone plants has resulted in tighter market supply, jointly driving prices upward.

Market Sentiment Boosted: As the weather warms, downstream demand continues to recover. The overall confidence in the chemical market has strengthened, providing some support to cyclohexanone prices.

Market Outlook Analysis

In the short term, cyclohexanone prices are expected to continue at high levels, but there is a need to be cautious about the downward pressure from a decline in upstream raw material prices and weaker-than-expected downstream demand. In the medium to long term, the fundamental issue of overcapacity in the industry has not fundamentally changed, limiting the space for sustained significant price increases. Prices are likely to maintain a range-bound fluctuation. It is still necessary to closely monitor changes in supply and demand dynamics.
