Aekyung Chemical Plans to Sell Its Ningbo Subsidiary

ECHEMI 2026-03-25

Aekyung Chemical announced on March 19, 2026, that it will halt operations at its Chinese subsidiary, Aekyung (Ningbo) Chemical Co., Ltd., by August 31, 2026, and proceed with its sale. The buyer has not yet been disclosed.

The announcement shows that the subsidiary recorded sales of approximately KRW 137.7 billion in 2025, accounting for about 8.38% of Aekyung Chemical’s total sales. The company stated that after the sale, the consolidated sales scale will decrease, but as a result of divesting the loss-making unit, the overall operating loss is expected to shrink, which will help improve the financial structure.

The company further noted in the announcement that this sale is part of its efforts to enhance financial efficiency and competitiveness. Prior to halting operations, the subsidiary will maintain normal production and sales, and after the shutdown, it will proceed with the asset transfer process.
