Rally and Retreat! Epichlorohydrin Falls Back to 10,000 Yuan per Ton

ECHEMI 2026-05-13

May 12th, news:

In April 2026, the Chinese epichlorohydrin market experienced a phase of rising prices, with the price reaching a high of 13,000 CNY per ton for the year. However, starting from mid-April, the market trend suddenly reversed, and prices began to continuously decline. By May 11, the market price of epichlorohydrin had dropped to 10,000 CNY per ton, a decrease of over 23% in just one month. The short-term downward trend is clear, and the market has entered a phase of adjustment.

From the average difference chart of propylene oxide, it can be seen that the average difference of propylene oxide on May 11th was -116.66 CNY/ton (average difference = M10 - M20 = 10376.67 - 10493.33). The average difference continued to narrow negatively on that day, indicating that the decline in the propylene oxide market in China is slowing down.

Looking at the five-level positioning: The current price is at the median for the year and has yet to reach its historical low. There is still room for further downside, and the market may continue its weak, volatile trend.
