Prices of coatings, titanium dioxide, and emulsions have risen across the board!

ECHEMI 2021-08-13

Yesterday (12th), Ananda, a listed titanium dioxide company, issued a letter stating that from the 12th, the domestic sales base price of rutile titanium dioxide and anatase titanium dioxide were raised by 1,000 CNY/ton, and the base price for foreign trade sales was raised by US$200/ton.

Since August, more than a dozen titanium dioxide companies have sent letters to increase the price, with a maximum increase of 1,500 CNY/ton, starting a new round of hot gains. Price increases are no longer new in the chemical industry this year, but chemical products such as titanium dioxide, emulsions, and coatings have risen for 7 consecutive rounds, queuing until the end of the month, restricted sales, bidding, high prepayments, and long-term lock-ups. , So that the chemical people were surprised and surprised again and again.

Titanium dioxide industry rose for 7 consecutive rounds, more than a dozen companies collectively increased

In the first half of the year, the price of titanium dioxide rose to 21,500 CNY/ton, and the price is still rising, and this process of rising is inseparable from the "cooperation" of many companies. Longbai Group increased 7 rounds during the year, with a cumulative increase of more than 6,000 CNY/ton, and China Nuclear Titanium Dioxide increased 6 times during the year, with a cumulative increase of 5,500 CNY/ton. "Monthly increase" has become an unwritten rule in the titanium dioxide industry. According to industry insiders, the off-season of titanium dioxide from June to August is at the last juncture, and companies generally hope to adjust the price to a high level so that the peak season can reach new highs. It is expected that titanium dioxide companies will continue to send letters to increase in the short term.

Chemicals started the auction mode, boosting prices to rise further

As the price of chemicals rises, this method of auction has become more and more common, and this method in turn has boosted the price of chemicals to rise again.

Regarding bisphenol A, the bidding helped the market to run again. The starting price of bisphenol A for a company in East China was 25,800 CNY/ton, and it went through four rounds to 26,300 CNY/ton. The next day's quotation soared by more than 500 CNY/ton to 27000-27200 CNY/ton. The holders had a positive attitude and a strong reluctance to sell.

Silicone generally rises by 1,000 CNY/ton, leading companies have sealed orders, and orders have been scheduled to the end of August

At present, the price of organic silicon has increased by about 40% compared with the beginning of the year. On the 11th, the price of Inner Mongolia Hengyecheng organic silicon DMC (first-class product) was 31,500 CNY/ton, an increase of 1,000 yuan from the beginning of the month; the price of organic silicon from Luxi Chemical increased by 800 compared to the beginning of the month. Yuan. Currently Hubei Xingfa, Shandong Jinling, Tangshan Sanyou, Shandong Dongyue, Zhejiang Hesheng are temporarily closed.

A small number of manufacturers only supply core users and advance orders, and orders have been scheduled to the end of August. Due to the epidemic and other reasons, nearly 100 highways in Jiangsu Province were closed, and freight rates increased by about 50-60%. This also exacerbated the tight supply of the silicone industry chain to a certain extent, and the arrival of raw materials for downstream customers will be delayed.
