Business Society’s Ethyl Acetate Trend Analysis for September 17, 2026: Moderate Pullback

ECHEMI 2026-09-18

In early September, due to the rising prices of upstream raw materials such as acetic acid and ethanol, the quotations for ethyl acetate in China saw a continuous and significant increase. After mid-September, the downstream market showed insufficient acceptance of high prices, leading to a weakening sentiment among industry players, and quotations in many regions were continuously reduced. Based on the analysis of the average difference system, the current ethyl acetate is in a mild correction and fluctuation pattern. The 60-day and 3-month cycle prices are at high levels, with significant resistance to short-term increases. However, the downside risk is controllable given the support from the cost side.

I. Data Description

The latest available data is up to September 16, 2026. It is recommended to refer to real-time data.

II. Table of Mean Difference Changes

Average Difference Type Value as of 2026.09.16 Value as of 2026.09.15 Direction of Change
5-day Average Difference (D5) -22.00 -8.00 -
10-day Average Difference (D10) 179.00 242.34 -
20-day Average Difference (D20) 285.17 269.33 +

III. Signal State Determination

The current average difference change combination is (-, -, +), which belongs to a mild correction (bearish, corrective nature) signal.

IV. Conclusions on Trend Directions

The current price trend of ethyl acetate in China is judged to be fluctuating. Reason: The direction of change in the three averages compared to the previous day is not entirely consistent, which does not meet the criteria for a clear upward or downward trend. The nature of the fluctuation is a mild correction with a bearish bias.

V. Spatial Reference

The 60-day cyclical price of ethyl acetate is in the 5th tier (high level); the 3-month cyclical price is also in the 5th tier (high level); and the 1-year cyclical price is in the 3rd tier (medium level). There is limited room for further short-term price increases, and the downward pressure on prices due to lower upstream raw material costs remains manageable.

Six, Recent Spot Market Dynamics in China

1. Early September market trend: Supported by the rise in upstream acetic acid prices, the ethyl acetate market in China continued to show a firm upward trend. On September 11, the factory price in North China was reported at 6,370 CNY/ton (an increase of 115 CNY/ton from the previous quote), and in East China, it was 6,450 CNY/ton (an increase of 225 CNY/ton). The ex-factory price of ethyl acetate from Jiangsu Baichuan High-Tech was reported at 6,650 CNY/ton (an increase of 300 CNY/ton), and from Jiangsu Lianhai Biology, it was 6,500 CNY/ton (an increase of 300 CNY/ton). All the above prices are inclusive of tax. 2. As of September 16, the latest market conditions: Ethyl acetate prices in many regions of China have entered a downward adjustment phase. In North China, the factory price is 6,275 CNY/ton (down 80 CNY/ton), and in East China, the factory price is 6,410 CNY/ton (down 50 CNY/ton). The downstream market shows low acceptance of high prices, leading to a poor market sentiment. Actual transactions are subject to negotiation.
