New launches from 770+ exhibitors, live formulation and 800-paper review headline at in-cosmetics Asia 2026

ECHEMI 2026-10-08

01 October, Bangkok: Visitors to in-cosmetics Asia 2026 will be among the first to see new ingredients, hear findings from more than 800 research papers and test formulations spanning skin longevity, multisensory beauty and fragrance.

Taking place at BITEC, Bangkok from 3-5 November 2026, the event will bring more than 770 exhibitors together with speakers from L’Oréal, Unilever, P&G, Euromonitor International and the International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists (IFSCC).

From live formulation sessions and new product launches to Indonesia’s incoming halal requirements, the programme is designed to help visitors discover what is new, compare different approaches and understand how the latest ideas could work in practice.

IFSCC President offers first look across 800 new papers

Robert H.A. McPherson, President of the IFSCC, will give visitors an early view of the research priorities emerging across cosmetic science in Future Signals: The Science Shaping Beauty Tomorrow.

McPherson will analyse more than 800 newly published research papers, and by looking across them as a single body of work, he will identify recurring keywords, areas gathering momentum and emerging technologies.

Award-winning papers will also be examined for what they could mean for ingredients, formulations, claims, testing and product development. The session will provide a clear view of where researchers, brands, suppliers and universities are concentrating their attention, and which ideas may soon reach the formulation bench.

Future Signals: The Science Shaping Beauty Tomorrow takes place in Technical Seminar Theatre 2 on Wednesday 4 November from 12.45–13.15.

Visitors can compare new routes to skin longevity

Skin longevity will also feature prominently throughout the show, giving visitors the opportunity to compare the different science, ingredients and formulation techniques gaining ground.

In Thailand, 72% of Gen Z consumers place high importance on taking proactive steps to protect their skin’s future appearance, according to Mintel. For brands and formulators, that interest is opening new conversations about prevention, resilience, skin homeostasis and how benefits can be measured over time.

In the Marketing Trends Theatre, Rodrigo De Vecchi, Research Director at L’Oréal Research & Innovation, will present The Longevity Revolution: From Medical Science to the Future of Beauty. Reza Jahangiri, R&D Manager and PhD Candidate in Medical Biotechnology at Complife Group, will examine a three-layer approach to protection, resilience and wellbeing in Decoding Beauty Longevity in the Technical Seminars.

Those ideas will be visible in ingredients and formulations across the show. Bloomage will use Bioyouth™-SPG Schizophyllan Gel to explore skin homeostasis, Lucas Meyer Cosmetics by Clariant will approach longevity through the skin’s biological pathways with its LightYears concept, and SETHIC will focus on the microbiome through ingredients developed using fermentation.

Seeing these different routes to longevity side by side will help visitors understand what each could offer their own products, rather than treating longevity as a single trend or claim.

Multisensory beauty becomes something visitors can touch, smell and test

One of the most immediate ways to assess a formulation is to experience it. Texture, scent, appearance and application can all influence whether consumers believe a product is effective, enjoy using it and return to it.

Tanapatr Barameesangpet, Beauty & Wellbeing Thailand R&D Lead at Unilever, explains: “Consumers increasingly evaluate beauty products holistically, using sensory cues to judge efficacy, quality, and enjoyment. Familiar sensory cues provide reassurance, comfort, and trust, especially in categories linked to self-care and wellbeing. At the same time, consumers are increasingly attracted to novelty and shareable experiences that make products feel distinctive and exciting.

“The challenge for brands is finding the right balance: delivering sensory experiences that feel intuitively relevant while introducing moments of surprise that create delight and memorability.”

Barameesangpet will discuss Unilever’s approach in Multisensory: Designing Beauty Experiences Consumers Feel, Remember and Love in the Marketing Trends Theatre. Spotlight on Multisensory will take the discussion onto the show floor, where visitors can touch and test formulated prototypes.

In the Formulation Lab, Gaelle Coestesquis, Formulation Manager APAC at Lucas Meyer Cosmetics by Clariant, will demonstrate how a high-oil, cold-process balm can transform into an oil while retaining a non-greasy skin feel.

Fragrance will add another dimension. The Asia Pacific fragrance ingredients market was valued at an estimated US$3.82 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach US$5.04 billion by 2029, representing annual growth of 5.7%.

The new Fragrance Zone will give scent a dedicated space at the event for the first time. Visitors will be able to compare prototypes at the Scent Bar, follow the development of scent through the Evolution of Fragrance showcase, find their personalised fragrance profiles, and discover new ingredients and applications through the inaugural Fragrance Awards.

New ingredients make their debut in Bangkok

The Innovation Zone will bring recently launched active and functional ingredients together, giving visitors a first look at new solutions and the opportunity to compare their applications.

Cambrium GmbH will exclusively launch LumaCell, a cellular longevity ingredient. CLR Berlin will showcase SyriCalm CLR (PC), developed to soothe, protect and strengthen the skin, while Laboratorios Argenol S.L. will present a COSMOS-approved Silver Citrate Solution with deodorant, preservative, anti-acne and anti-dandruff applications. Patech Fine Chemicals Co., Ltd. will also introduce Paester™ BDP-2S, a plant-derived alternative to lanolin.

Together, the products show the range of problems suppliers are working to solve, from longevity and skin resilience to multifunctionality and the replacement of animal-derived materials. Visitors will also be able to examine ingredients shortlisted for the Innovation Zone Best Ingredient Awards and speak directly to the teams behind them.

New ideas meet practical formulation and market questions

Discovering an ingredient is only the beginning. It’s important to also understand how it behaves in a finished formulation, whether it meets consumer expectations and what may affect its route to market.

The Formulation Lab will allow visitors to practice techniques demonstrated in real time. Sessions will include Ephyla’s work on barrier-care formulas using NSL Biomimetic Pickering Technology and IMCD’s demonstration of high-naturality longevity skincare made using a cold process.

The Marketing Trends Theatre will add the consumer and market context. Chloe Bang, Senior Analyst at Euromonitor International, will present APAC Personal Care Trends on Wednesday 4 November, examining consumer needs and product development across the region, including where a country-specific approach may be needed.

Regulation will be particularly timely when the show opens in November, Indonesia’s mandatory halal certification requirements for cosmetics will have recently taken effect. Due to apply from 17 October 2026, the requirements have implications for ingredient traceability, supporting documentation, supplier choices and manufacturing processes.

On Thursday 5 November, Latest Cosmetics Regulatory Updates and Compliance Strategies in China, ASEAN and South Korea will bring together Seongmin Sohn of Wynngate Korea Co., Ltd and Caroline Bassoni of COSMED.

Indonesia’s requirements will be examined in more detail in Halal Cosmetics Labelling Outlook, led by Amarjit Sahota of Ecovia Intelligence, Michael Hew of Avares (M) Sdn. Bhd. and Ainaa Herlysa Zainal of VNI Scientific Sdn. Bhd.

Visitors looking for answers to their own formulation, regulatory or commercial questions will also be able to speak directly to specialists through Ask the Experts.

Sarah Gibson, Event Director at in-cosmetics Asia, said: “What visitors consistently value about the event is the opportunity to compare those ideas and innovations in one place. As the most international personal care ingredients show in APAC, in-cosmetics Asia brings together a diverse community from across the region and around the world, giving visitors the chance to see new ingredients, experience formulations and hear directly from the experts developing the science.”
