Summit on Development of Coal Chemical Parks and Industrial Chains

Recently, the Summit on the Development of Coal Chemical Industry Parks and Industrial Chains of China (Yulin) co-sponsored by Shaanxi Federation of Industry and Commerce, Yulin Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and Yulin Municipal People's Government was held in Yulin, Shaanxi Province. From relevant government departments, industry associations, academicians, experts and representatives of chemical industry parks and enterprises, the development direction of coal chemical industry chain was discussed, and the development prospects of coal chemical industry parks were analyzed. Petrochemical industry is moving towards high-quality development. In his speech, Shen Tao, vice-minister of the United Front Department of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Group of the Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce, said that Yulin, as the second largest economy in Shaanxi Province, bears the mission of realizing the three major objectives of "world-class high-end energy and chemical base, the most influential city in Shanxi, Gansu, Ningxia, Mongolia and Jin, and the demonstration zone of ecological civilization on the Loess Plateau". In recent years, Yulin adheres to the development idea of "three transformations", takes high-level chemical industry parks as the carrier, takes the integration and extension of industrial chain as the main line, and strives to promote the coordinated development of modern coal chemical industry with petrochemical industry, salt chemical industry and new energy industry, which opens a new chapter of high-end, fine and differential development of modern chemical industry.

"Yulin coal, oil, gas and salt resources are rich, is an important national energy and chemical industry base, every square kilometer underground contains a billion yuan of treasure, the development of coal chemical industry has a unique resource advantage." Li Chunlin, mayor of Yulin City, introduced that after more than 20 years of development, Yulin Energy and Chemical Industry Base has formed a number of industrial clusters, and has implemented 23 major coal chemical projects with a total investment of more than 150 billion yuan. It has the production capacity of 5.8 million tons of coal-based methanol, 2.4 million tons of coal-based olefins, 1.35 million tons of polyvinyl chloride and 58.5 million tons of orchid carbon, and has become the largest orchid carbon production base and magnesium production base in the world. In Yulin, the largest methanol production base and important chlor-alkali production base in China, the coal chemical industry framework has initially formed, and the scale advantage has gradually emerged. At the same time, a number of national-level major projects have been laid out, breaking through a number of key core technologies.

Li Chunlin said that Yulin would take the development of the whole coal chemical industry chain as the direction, carry out the "12363" development strategy in depth, and build a new chemical base of "coal head and tail". That is, a main line: transformation and upgrading, high-quality development as the main line; two bottom lines: adhere to the two bottom lines of environmental protection and safety; three efforts: to make up for the shortcomings of basic chemical industry, enhance the scale advantage, introduce internationally competitive enterprises, technologies and products, and develop the chemical terminal product processing industry; to build six major industries with vertical linkages, horizontal coupling, upstream and downstream collaboration. Chain: coal quality utilization, coal to methanol-olefin and downstream, coal to aromatics-ethylene glycol-polyester, coal to oil, coal-based high-end chemical industry, chlor-alkali chemical industry chain; to achieve three major objectives: conversion of raw materials to materials, expansion of bulk chemicals to end-use products, and stride forward from the middle and low end of the industrial chain to the high end. As one of the four major coal chemical industry demonstration zones in China, Yulin is an important pole in the "Golden Triangle" of energy and chemical industry, and has become an important energy and chemical industry gathering area in China. Central and local powerful enterprises have laid out large projects one after another. The successful holding of this conference will promote Yulin to strengthen docking cooperation with other regions and accelerate the development process of world-class high-end energy and chemical base.
