Chemical Safety will be the Focus of Its Business Development in China

The safety production field of Chinese chemical enterprises has attracted the attention of Rockwell Automation, an American industrial automation enterprise.
On May 15, in an interview with Interface News and other media at the Tianjin Station of Rockwell Automation Global Roadshow (RAOTM) in 2019, Shi An, President of Rockwell Greater China, said that the recent frequent accidents in the domestic chemical industry have accelerated the development of the chemical industry towards a safer and more efficient direction, which will be Rockwell's next step in China business development. The focus of the exhibition. At present, the situation of safety production in China's chemical enterprises is grim. Some enterprises are facing many problems, such as aging equipment, serious loss of personnel and inadequate safety training, which easily lead to chemical accidents. According to the national chemical accident analysis report issued by the Department of Crisis Supervision of the Ministry of Emergency Management, 620 chemical accidents occurred nationwide from 2016 to 2018, resulting in 728 deaths. After the explosion accident of "3.21" in Xiangshui, Jiangsu Province,
, more attention has been paid to the safety of chemical industry. Safety and environmental protection have been carried out in Jiangsu, Shandong, Zhejiang and other places.
Shi An said that with the upgrading of domestic production safety and environmental protection work, local governments tend to monitor and manage the key equipment of the park in a unified way, while chemical enterprises hope to analyze and process the massive production data, so as to improve efficiency and reduce safety risks.
"However, it will consume too much manpower and material resources to complete system construction and data processing by local governments and chemical enterprises themselves." Shi An said. In the construction and service of information platform, large industrial automation and information companies have more room for development. Rockwell is headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. It dates back to 1904 and its predecessor is Allen-Bradley (AB). Its business almost covers discrete industries and process industries, and its strong areas are automobile, rail transit, food and beverage, etc. In fiscal year 2018, Rockwell's revenue was $6.666 billion, up 5.62% year-on-year; net profit attributable to ordinary shareholders was $536 million, down 35.15% year-on-year.
In 1988, Rockwell established its first real enterprise in China, Allen Bradley (Xiamen) Co., Ltd. Rockwell was the target of international industrial giants.
In October 2016, Schneider Electric of France made an offer for Rockwell, valued at $18 billion. From August 2017, Emerson Electric Company raised its price three times to acquire Rockwell, which was eventually rejected by the latter. The final offer was $225 per share, totaling about $29 billion.
Rockwell has said that the $29 billion offer still underestimates its value, and merging with Emerson will curb its growth prospects. When asked about the acquisition and merger by the Interface News, Shi An said that Rockwell would not consider acquisition, and that cooperation between the two companies could find more appropriate ways, such as joint ventures. Rockwell entered the upstream oil and gas exploration field through the establishment of a joint venture company.
Shi An mentioned that Sensia, a joint venture between Rockwell and Schlumberger, is expected to be put into operation this summer. Sensia will become the first manufacturer in the world to focus on Digital Oilfield automation.
